Why do you need a love bridge at all? With a continuous mattress, there is also no annoying visitor crack in the double bed. Doesn't it make more sense to buy a double mattress instead of two separate mattresses for a double bed?

The idea is obvious and for some couples it may make sense. For example, if both partners are roughly the same height or weight and prefer an identical firmness level in the mattress. However, it is usually the case that both partners have different requirements for the mattress. The firmness level of the mattress should be selected according to body weight. Tall or heavy people generally need somewhat firmer mattresses. A softer firmness is recommended for petite people. This cannot be provided by a single mattress.
